Nenana Valley Chamber of Commerce

Nenana's Chamber was formed in 1998 to fill the need of our businesses to organize, and to help our community with tourism. We took over the functions of the local Lions club and support community activities such as the 4th of July celebration, the purchasing and distribution of Christmas gifts through Santa , various community functions like foot races, picnics. As time went by the lions Club became a reality  again  and took over it's former duties The amount we can do as a group is directly related to the money we raise, and the donated time from our community-- business members. As a group we support good business ethics, community involvement of our members, helping create a good business atmosphere in Nenana, and peace/ harmony between all our businesses. We hope you visit/ patronize the sites that support us. Whatever your business needs, we hope we can accommodate you. Any questions please e-mail us.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nenana is a small community and our business people tend to be very independent and busy. Our community Chamber of Commerce has fewer functions then many larger chambers yet we do some important things for Nenana and other communities nearby.  Starting in spring we try to organize a highway spring clean up. 'Welcome to Nenana ' signs go up. When snow is gone we begin weekly 'open  market' --offering vendors organizations and individuals a chance to sell whatever they have at a prime location at the entrance to town - leased from the city. On the the 4th of July we participate in the community celebration with a food booth-fund rasier.  In teh  fall each year we have a 'welcome diner' This is like a welcome wagon for new people and there is a big potluck feed and introduction for new comers. In fall- early winter we put together a yearly birthday calender offered mostly to locals that has everyone birthday and aniversary on it. Throughout the year we contribute time and money to other organizations and causes that we feel benefit the community, like supporting the Sports Association's effort to get drag racing and snow  machine  racing in Nenana. Maintaining the community web site and paying it's monthly fee is important  to us. Now and then we help out a new business with promotions and any business with various problems. Sometimes we offer educational  coarses and bring in experts to talk to the business people about things of interest - taxes,  advertising, or marketing issues. These things we do seem to occupy what funds we can raise and limited donated time we have. We wish we could do more sometimes - but are glad to be doing what we do. for more  information contact us!
